چکیده
291 Dear Editor-in-Chief, We have read the paper of Song et al. [1] on frontonasal dysplasia deformity. It was an interesting discussion of an image that depicts a boy with a nose deformity, and it was reported that no basal encephalocele was observed. We would like to point out that we had a similar case of a girl with the same nose deformity. As in the report by Song et al., our patient also presented with mild hypertelorism, a LETTERS

Response To Dr. Tang Letter to Editor: Inconspicuous Nasoethmoidal Encephalocele Might Be Wrongly Diagnosed
We appreciate your comments on our diagnosis of a case of frontonasal dysplasia. We reviewed Nond’s new classification system and the patient’s data and computed tomography (CT) findings again as you suggested. However, we were not able to find evidence of frontoethmoidal encephalomeniogocele (FEEM). Given the genetic counseling and the morphologic features based on the CT scan, we have conclud...

Frontoethmoidal encephaloceles are herniations of the intracranial contents through a defect in the skull at the junction of the frontal and ethmoidal bones. They are generally classified as nasofrontal, nasoethmoidal, and naso-orbital, although there may be some overlap or multiplicity. The records of 35 patients treated for frontoethmoidal encephaloceles were examined. Of these, 12 cases with...
متن کاملCephalopagus conjoined twins presented with encephalocele: diagnostic role of ultrafast MR imaging.
Conjoined twinning is a rare abnormality and cephalopagus is a very rare form of conjoined twins. We report a case of cephalopagus conjoined twins with encephalocele and omphalocele which diagnosed by ultrasonography and ultrafast magnetic resonance (MR) imaging at 24 weeks of the gestation. Ultrafast MR imaging can provide image quality superior to two dimensional ultrasonography and should be...

Five female newborns with occipital encephaloceles were included. All but one mother...
متن کاملBasal encephalocele in an adult patient presenting with minor anomalies: a case report
INTRODUCTION Basal encephalocele is rare in adults. Congenital and acquired cases have been reported with regard to the developmental mechanism, and the pathology has not been elucidated in detail. CASE PRESENTATION We encountered an adult with basal encephalocele strongly suggesting congenital development because of the presence of minor anomalies: strabismus and ocular hypertelorism. The di...
